The Cut Collective is a collaboration between community leaders and barbershop owners. We want to empower young Black men to reach their highest potential; to be leaders in every space they occupy. We want to instill confidence, self-esteem, and awareness by providing young Black men with the tools they need for success.

The Cut

We’ve heard it many times, “When you look good, you feel good.” It’s true. Something as simple as a haircut can can improve a young man’s confidence and self-esteem. Providing haircuts to young men that may not be able to afford them, gives them the opportunity to feel better about themselves. They can focus more at school, be more productive at work, and be an overall better version of themselves in the community.

The Skills

A haircut is just the beginning. When you feel good, you are more receptive to new ideas and approaches. Our Skills program takes a holistic approach to mind, body, and soul care. The program is thoughtfully delivered by trusted professionals our youth can relate to.

The ‘Ships

The ‘Ships is a collection of programs designed to prepare our young Black men to be role models and leaders in every space they occupy. At home, at school, or in the community with friends they need to take OwnerShip of who they are, what they do, and how they do it. Our LeaderShip program teaches them to be role models and leaders. MentorShip pairs them with a mentor they can relate to and learn from. EntrepreneurShip introduces them to careers in traditional and nontraditional fields, helping them create a path for future success.
